HG Hobby (also known as HG-P or Heng Guan) is a Chinese RC manufacturer that has built a cult following in the Philippines for one reason: their scale trucks look absolutely stunning. The P407 in particular is one of the most photographed RC builds in Filipino hobbyist communities.
HG Hobby's Most Popular Models
- HG-P407 — A 1/10 scale Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series replica. Incredibly detailed, with a functional hard body, working lights, and a ladder-frame chassis. RTR and kit versions available. This is the model that put HG on the map in PH.
- HG-P602 — A 1/12 scale military-inspired truck with 6-wheel drive, functional winch, and a detailed military body. The 6WD setup makes it a conversation starter at any trail run.
- HG-P601 — A more compact 6×6 platform. Great for first-time HG buyers who want the 6-wheel look without the full P602 commitment.
- HG-C1 / HG-C3 — Compact 1/10 scale crawlers from HG's newer lineup. More trail-capable, less show-focused.
Scale Detail That Turns Heads
What makes HG Hobby special is the scale realism. The P407's Land Cruiser 70 body has the proportions, bumper details, and light placements of a real vehicle — something that even premium brands sometimes miss. Filipino hobbyists regularly post stunning scale photography with HG rigs because the cameras genuinely love them.
Where to Buy in the Philippines
HG Hobby is available from hobby shops and online sellers. P407 RTR prices typically land around ₱7,000–₱12,000 depending on trim and seller. The kit version is popular with builders who want to swap electronics.
