Mugen Seiki is a Japanese RC brand with one of the longest and most decorated histories in competitive off-road racing. In the Philippines, Mugen is associated with serious 1/8 scale racing — nitro buggies, electric buggies, and truggy platforms used at sanctioned Philippine RC race events.
Mugen Seiki's Racing Lineup
- Mugen MBX8 — Mugen's flagship 1/8 scale nitro off-road buggy. Used in world championship competitions. Highly tunable, race-proven, and beloved by Philippine nitro racers.
- Mugen MBX8E — The electric version of the MBX8. Full competition-spec electric buggy for hobbyists who prefer battery power over nitro.
- Mugen MTX6 — A 1/8 scale truggy platform. Larger than a buggy, more stable at speed, and popular for oval and mixed-terrain racing in PH.
- Mugen MTC2 — A competition touring car for 1/10 on-road racing. Less common in PH but present in dedicated touring car circuits.
Mugen in Philippine Racing Culture
1/8 scale racing in the Philippines is an organized, competitive hobby with timed races, nationals, and club events. Mugen competes in this space against Kyosho, Associated, and Team Losi. Filipino 1/8 racers who run Mugen are usually among the most serious competitors in the country.
